Gates attended Harvard University until his junior year, when he left to focus on Microsoft. He initially served as chairman and chief engineer of the company until leaving the chief engineer role in 2008.
Bill Gates is heavily involved in philanthropy. In 1994, Gates, along with his wife Melinda, founded the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The foundation’s main efforts are centered on equity for people around the world. Major projects undertaken include HIV eradication, vaccine development, and education.

Born in 1984, Mark Zuckerberg is the founder and current CEO of Facebook, a global social media company. His current net worth is $91 billion.
Zuckerberg attended Harvard University until his junior year, when he left to focus on Facebook. He famously founded the social media company out of his college dorm room in 2004.
Mark Zuckerberg founded the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative along with his wife Priscilla Chan with the goal of promoting social justice and education. Zuckerberg is also a signee of the Giving Pledge, meaning he will donate 99 percent of his net worth to charity throughout his lifetime.
